Indications:
Cefixime is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:
- Upper respiratory tract infections, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis
- Lower respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia
- Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae
- Uncomplicated infections of the skin and soft tissues
Usage:
- Cefixime tablets and capsules are intended for oral administration and should be taken with or without food.
- The tablets can be dissolved in water to form a suspension for easier administration, especially in pediatric patients.
Dosage:
