Description
Pharmacokinetics:
Polyacrylic Acid, the active ingredient in Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops, exerts its therapeutic effects locally on the ocular surface. It forms a protective film over the cornea and conjunctiva, providing lubrication and hydration to the eyes. Additionally, Polyacrylic Acid helps stabilize the tear film, enhancing ocular surface integrity and relieving symptoms of dry eye syndrome.
Pharmacodynamics:
Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops belong to the class of ophthalmic lubricants and artificial tears. By mimicking the natural tear film and providing long-lasting moisture to the ocular surface, Polyacrylic Acid effectively relieves dryness, irritation, and discomfort associated with dry eye syndrome.
Drug Classification:
Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops are classified as ophthalmic lubricants and artificial tears. They are indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry eye syndrome and ocular surface disorders characterized by insufficient tear production or poor tear quality.
Formulations:
Our Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops are available in the following formulation:
Eye Drops: Each ml contains 2 mg of Polyacrylic Acid in a sterile ophthalmic solution.
Indications:
Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops are indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome, including ocular dryness, irritation, burning, and foreign body sensation. They are also suitable for use in patients with ocular surface disorders resulting from environmental factors, contact lens wear, or certain medical conditions.
Usage:
Shake the bottle well before each use. Instill one to two drops of Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops into the affected eye(s) as needed, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and place the prescribed number of drops into the eye(s) without touching the dropper tip to any surface. Blink gently to spread the medication evenly over the ocular surface.
Dosage:
The recommended dosage of Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops may vary depending on the severity of dry eye symptoms and individual patient response. Use as directed by your healthcare provider, typically one to two drops into the affected eye(s) as needed, up to several times daily.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Polyacrylic Acid Eye Drops may include temporary stinging or burning upon instillation, mild eye irritation, blurred vision, or hypersensitivity reactions. These side effects are usually transient and resolve spontaneously. If you experience persistent or severe discomfort, discontinue use of the medication and consult your healthcare provider.
